Tokyo Halloween Scavenger Hunt...."Through the Decades"!

This weekend we went to Tokyo to take part in a Halloween event that is held every year for JETs...A fancy dress scavenger hunt around the city to solve a murder mystery.
I took Friday off work (and got to speak to Zeke on skype in the morning!) and went to Tokyo in the afternoon. On the bus, to my horror, I realised I had forgotten one of my boots to wear with my outfit so had to go shopping in Harajuku when I got there...its a hard life!
Harajuku has lots of well stocked vintage shops and I bought a pair of tanned leather boots (and a pair of wedges just in case!!). Shopping complete, I went to the hotel to check in and try and get a few hours sleep before the party that night.

The rest of the girls arrived from 7pm and slowly got ready to hit the town. The first stop was a Jazz bar where the other girls had dinner and champagne and I had cocktails, rum and Baileys before going to the club.
The cub was an 'underground' kind of venue that is off the beaten track. It was very cool and the night started with a funk jazz band and was followed by a DJ playing electro funk type music. Oh and the Tokyo boys....I had given up on Japanese men until that night.....stylish, cool, and not a mullet in sight! So I realised that Nagano city men are the British equivalent to (no offence intended) those from Birmingham or even further North.....and Tokyo boys are equivalent to those in East London scene....there is hope yet ;-)

Ok so enough about the boys......the next day was the scavenger hunt. We had to be up at 8 so after 4 hours sleep no-one in our team was particularly genki and whilst the others were collecting there packs of info we were hanging around the breakfast and coffee table trying to cure our hangovers with muffins and lattes!

Belinda rounded us up for some pre hunt piccies and off we went into Tokyo dressed like a mix of my gran, Grease, and Geri Halliwell's 'Rainin Men'.....We were also equipped with some white boards which proved to provide much needed funny entertainment.....see the pictures!

With hangover creep setting n Me, Madz and Kat were defeated and headed to Book 1st to stock up on British magazines, went to Puri Kura for some photos and then hit the shops! Zara actually had some really nice winter coats that we poured over for about an hour before deciding that as we only have £50 left until pay day winter shopping should be put on hold....although Kat did splash out and bag her self a nice one.

Back at the hotel we got ready for the dinner and award ceremony...best outfits, scavenger winners etc....and started drinking the red wine again. We were late for the dinner but we weren't too bothered and entertained ourselves by posing with the decoration in the bar....even the fruit! Outside some more provocative pictures were taken that can be viewed by donating a small fee to the 'winter coats for brit girls' fund.

Saturday night was also the celebrations for the Gaelic Football tournament. Me, Kat and Madz went to Roppongi Hills to Paddy Foleys Irish Bar to join the players. I was impressed that some of them were still dedicated and wore their tour tops.
Paddy Foleys was fun and we got letchy americans showing off their money to buy us drinks...suckers!
After all the fun of the weekend I was out of genkiness, out of money and so went home after the bar....Kat and Madz went on to a club called Grace in Roppongi to meet the rest of the hunt teams.....see Madz blog for an update about the club!

Sunday required nothing less than Pizza Express for lunch before getting the highway bus back to Nagano.
