Nozawa Onsen Long weekend

Another thing I like about Japan other than the great food and a festival for every possible commemoration, is the number of public holidays....alot more than the UK!
The last public holiday was 2 weeks ago. I visited the light festival at Zenkoji saturday afternoon and met some friends in town for dinner after. The lads came from Yamanashi as well as Ricky and Ultan from Sendei. After dinner at the izakaya we went in search of some Nagano nightlife (which seems to be rapidly decreasing or hiding under some unturned stone!). Not wanting to go in the club containing all of 9 customers, we opted for the bar next door which turned out to be quite fun. It wasn't long before the drums and guitar was out and the lads had the whole place going.
With 6 lads staying in my appartment that night I decided to stay at Kirens house to make sure I got enough sleep before an earlier start on the hills the next day.

Kiren and I headed to Nozawa Onsen in the morning and were joined by everyone else at lunch. The conditions in Nozawa were white out but there was great powder.

With everywhere fully booked for the long weekend we headed back to Nagano at the end of the day and went for a curry before some of the lads drove back to Yamanashi.

Sunday night there was still 4 people staying at my place to get a final day of boarding in on Monday.
