After 2 days spent on a homestay in Toyashina near Matsumoto the girls returned to Nagano at 5pm Friday night looking exhausted only to be shuttled home to pack for a weekend of snowboarding in Hakuba.
We headed up Friday night with the intentions of having a few beers in the lodge....well, me and Ali had a few beers, then a bottle of vodka and then a few kahluas!
The lads turned up in a mini van all the way from Yamanashi that provided some additional entertainment over the weekend....with Ali driving!
Saturday morning we headed to Mt Happone. Ali had the privilege of having Alan as snowboard instructor for the day whilst me and Lou snowboarded across the mountain...a little of piste and a little lost but had a great day.
Saturday night saw 'a few more beers' at the lodge before making our way to a club called Naughty in Tsugaike where a reggae/ DJ/ MC night was being held. The club was really cool and had a skate ramp at the back of the dance floor. A few hours of bumpin and grinin to the reggae and we headed back to the lodge, quite intoxicated in a snow storm....we made it home though and sat up till the small hours drinking sake with a group of skiers who were staying at the lodge to make a film.
Sunday morning was a bit painful to say the least but we got back out on the mountain and whilst Lou spent the afternoon snowboarding with Madz, Bel, Matt and Alex - Ali and I went for a little adventure in the car, up a few gondolas, stopped for crepes and Hagen Daz before calling it a day and coming back to Nagano.
It was another BRILLIANT weekend in Hakuba and I'm devastated to think that it will be the last....But what better way to spend it than with my girls.
