The World Championship Volleyball tournament is held every 4 years, and lucky for me it was on this year. Matches have been taking place at various cities around Japan including Nagano. I went on Saturday 18th with Ikuko to watch the Men's Group C matches.
It was so exciting and I got quite into it. During breaks they had dance clubs from schools around Nagano perform, some of them were so little and cute.
One of the English teachers from my school was working at the event and I found out that he is the coach of Nishi's girls team - I am going to join! There is one slight problem though...I don't actually know how to play volleyball and school sports clubs are quite serious here...but that's a minor detail.

Yamamoto Sensei, also got me and Jay into the Volleyball on Tuesday night for free. We watched USA v Italy...was a brilliant match, and watching it with our students was fun as they were really excited.
And the day just got even better - Jay invited me round for dinner and Megumi-san made delicious okinomiyaki!
