New Year in Hakuba

For the New Year celebrations Kat, James, Belinda and I headed to Hakuba for 5 days of boarding and drinking! When we arrived we were a little worried about the lack of snow but the first night had a massive dump just in time for our first day out on the slopes. Bel and Kat headed to ski school with an instructor from the lodge whilst James and I had our first day in the powder. It was a new experience for me to snowboard in sooo much powder and I am still getting used to it now. James was quite patient waiting for me to pick up snowboarding again but we were joined by Kiren and Nick for the last 2 days so we started to venture out a bit more.

Hakuba was fairly busy and there was a couple of days when James and I got trapped up the mountain in storms and had to wait for hours for a lift down. The second 2 days were really good though and the sun even came out.

For New Years eve we went to a club near the lodge that started off pretty empty but was packed before new year. Again it was sooo sad to be away from my friends and family but we did have a good party that night!
