Ali and Lou arrived on Sunday (after an adventure to Niigata via the wrong train!) safe and sound! I was so happy to see them and nearly cried when I met them at the station. They both bought me lots of my favourite things from UK including Grazia, cream eggs and mini eggs!
I had Monday off work to take them to the Monkey Park in ShigaKogen for the afternoon. A little detour of the countryside and we found the park that was at the top of a hike.
At first we were all a little scared of being so close to the monkeys but they didn't seem to be that interested in us!

Monday night we went for dinner with Ikuko to a Japanese restaurant called Ootoya near my apartment. The girls got to try some really traditional Japanese food and desserts, which was quite brave on their first day!
On Tuesday they came to school with me in the morning and I gave them the grand tour. Unfortunately I don't have classes for the whole of March (poor me eh!) but we got to look around the school and all the sports facilities. Next stop was Zenkoji temple which is right near my school.
We took a walk into town and I introduced them to Tullys coffee shop and my favourite sake shop! We met Jay for lunch at Tofu Cafe after a bit of souvenir shopping. Jay was unfortunately the messenger to tell me I had to come back to school - woops! So I left the girls to their own devices to tour the city.
