Joan comes to Tokyo

On Tuesday Joan came to Tokyo after spending 2 days in Osaka. We started his visit with a trip to Tokyo Dome to watch the Giants vs Tigers with Tomoko.

The Giants lost to the Tigers (again!) but we still had fun watching the game.

Whilst I was at work Joan visited Tokyo and surrounding areas but unfotunately the weather has been rubbish this last week so most of the time he was soaked in the rain....I tried convincing him that Japan is not like London but the rain turned into a typhoon by the weekend!

Thursday night we headed to Shibuya for dinner and drinks at an iizakaya...this was the start of a slippery slope of drinking all weekend.

Friday night we headed into Roppongi around 11pm having drank a fair amount of sho-chu at home. With the intention of going to Womb we started at A971 in Midtown, where I bumped into people from work and then ended up very drunk and very lost in Shibuya so retreated to an iizakya for more drinks waiting for the train at 6am.
Saturday the typhoon really hit Tokyo so when we finally got up and out we headed straight back to Roppongi Midtown to carry on from where we left off that morning - in A971!!

I couldn't let Joan miss the Japanese culture that is Karaoke so we headed to the nearest combini bought a bag of alcohol and went to Karaoke for 3 hours!! I wasn't sure what Joan would make of it but I had to drag him out of there at 11pm so we could go back to the bars....his rendition of Robbie Williams was top notch;-)

The rest of the night involvedmore alcohol, more bars and finally (Joan being the Latino lover that he is) we ended up in a salsa bar till 6am - again!
Sunday we managed to do a rapid tour of Harajuku before Joan caught the night bus to Kyoto.
I haven't seen Joan for 4 years....and he hasn't changed a bit - still as mad as ever!
